VOMO Island, Fiji Achieves Pacific-First Childcare Accreditation with Worldwide Kids
VOMO Island Fiji has further strengthened its reputation as one of the South Pacific’s leading luxury family resorts, becoming the only resort in the Pacific region to have its childcare team complete Worldwide Kids’ Tier I Professional Childcare Training and join the Luxury Childcare Association.
Delivered on-island by Worldwide Kids Training Consultant Janine Ivemy, the comprehensive program saw VOMO’s full Kids’ Village team complete internationally recognised childcare training focused on best practice, child development, safety, engagement and delivering exceptional children’s experiences within a luxury hospitality environment.
As part of her visit, Janine also conducted an extensive audit of VOMO’s Kids’ Village facilities, programs and operational procedures, confirming they meet the highest international standards for resort childcare.
The process culminating in VOMO Island Resort becoming the very first member of the Luxury Childcare Association in the Pacific.
For VOMO Island General Manager Leon Pink, the achievement reflects the resort’s ongoing commitment to providing families with exceptional experiences while continually investing in the development of its team.
“For many years, guests travelling to Fiji have experienced the beautiful and genuine care that the Fijian people hold for children. While our team has always been passionate about creating meaningful experiences in our Kids’ Village, this training further strengthens our commitment to delivering world-class childcare standards,” Leon said.
“We are incredibly proud to be the only resort in the Pacific region to have achieved this Worldwide Kids Tier I qualification and become fully accredited following a successful audit of our facilities and procedures.
“The milestone ushers in a new standard for childcare in the Pacific and provides families with even greater confidence that their children are receiving exceptional care in a safe, engaging and nurturing environment while experiencing the warmth and culture that make Fiji so special.”
Reflecting on her experience working with the VOMO team, Janine Ivemy praised both the Kids’ Village staff and the wider resort culture that makes families feel welcome from the moment they arrive.
“I was looking forward to working with them to build on their strengths, share best practice, and further develop the Kids’ Village experience,” she said.
“From the moment I arrived at VOMO Island, I noticed the genuine warmth and connection all staff have with children and families. It is not just the Kids’ Village team; staff across the resort take time to engage with children and make families feel welcome.”
“As you walk around the resort, staff are always present and naturally engaging with babies and children, whether at the Kids’ Village, beach, poolside or restaurant.”
Janine said one of the most impressive aspects of VOMO was the strong sense of family and community that extends across the entire island.
“One of the key things I learned from the VOMO team is their natural kindness, family-focused culture and strong sense of community. There is real trust and connection, where parents feel at ease knowing their children are cared for by people who genuinely enjoy spending time with them.”
She added that the training has enhanced the team’s confidence and ability to deliver consistently exceptional experiences for young guests.
“The training has helped build the team’s confidence and understanding of best practice in childcare. The team has shown great enthusiasm and is now better equipped to deliver consistent and high-quality experiences for all children.”
“Families will benefit from knowing their children are in the care of a knowledgeable and trained childcare team, while still experiencing Fijian culture on VOMO Island. It has truly been an amazing experience to meet and work with such a dedicated team.”
The achievement positions VOMO Island at the forefront of luxury family hospitality in the Pacific, combining internationally recognised childcare standards with the genuine warmth, community spirit and cultural connection that define the Fijian experience.
Located just 15 minutes by helicopter from Nadi International Airport, VOMO Island offers families a unique blend of barefoot luxury and authentic island hospitality. The resort’s complimentary Kids’ Village program is a cornerstone of the VOMO experience, providing engaging, age-appropriate activities in a safe and nurturing environment while allowing parents the freedom to relax and enjoy the island.
