Oh how glad we are that we returned! Every single element of our trip was just spectacular. The staff, the rooms, the reef, the food, the kids club...the entire experience was nothing short of INCREDIBLE and every element that previously made us unsure of our return was resolved. On our last trip we felt the resort vibe lacked the relaxed family feeling we craved but the addition of an "adults only" pool this time has completely changed that. It allows choice for those guests who may not want to share their pool and deck space with children. This takes the stress off parents who want to ensure their kids aren't disturbing others wanting some peace and quiet. This time they even had a kids club group entirely devoted to amusing older children and that included games like Marco Polo in the pool! The other thing that seemed to be different this time around was the staff and management. They just seemed genuinely themselves. Their personalities shone through and they seemed relaxed enough to chat and share stories, give advice and have a laugh, all the while, ensuring glasses were filled, tables were cleared and children felt welcomed and cared for. Their personalities shone through and they seemed relaxed enough to chat and share stories, give advice and have a laugh, all the while, ensuring glasses were filled, tables were cleared and children felt welcomed and cared for. Every single day the management team took the time to chat candidly to their guests about their day. They built relationships that made them super approachable and ensured no questions remained unanswered. Game changer guys!
So how about the kids club? My 9 year old CRIED when we left because he was so in love with the beautiful people who cared for him in kids club which is a huge deal for him as he isn't a particularly emotional child. The resort now have two seperate programs, one for younger children and one that caters for older children. That said, they are also flexible with these programs based on the interests of the children. The children can choose what they want to take part in and sometimes set activities were changed if the kids at the kids club simply wanted to do something different! My youngest (6) was technically too young for the older group his 9 year old brother was in, but that was not an issue. When they realised he wanted to join in with the older children, the resort added an extra adult to the group when they did a snorkelling activity to cater for my youngest and ensure he was safe in the water (does it get more personalised that that???)! Some of the activities they did were: crab racing, snorkelling, tshirt painting, cooking, bonfires, kayaking, playing in the pool, outdoor movie nights, tennis etc etc the list goes on and on and on. Our kids even ditched us on our last night together to have dinner in the kids club and play with their friends! hahah
Just as before the island was paradise. Crystal clear water teeming with fish footsteps from the sand, rainbow reefs accessed from the beach or a daily snorkel trip. This time we swam with reef sharks, saw turtles, collected crabs and even swam amongst a school of fish while giant sea birds dived in after them all around us (my children will never forget that one).
We have already decided when we will return next year and we truly feel like we will be returning home. Thankyou for having us Vomo. We had the most amazing time! More read less - 30/05/22 - jharnish03

The... read morePros: Our hillside room had a great view of the ocean and Little Vomo off to the side. The room was spacious and beautifully appointed. The patio was roomy with a luxurious 2 person couch with many pillows and when I requested another lounge chair as we were 3 people they brought it up the hill for me. Their service was always fantastic and we were treated like we were very special guest. Every person was cheerful and smiling and would do what they could to make us happy. We arrived before 10 am and they invited us to have a full breakfast while we waited for our room to be made ready. The food was plentiful and mostly fabulous. The breakfasts were superb with a cold room buffet that varied a little and included cold cuts such as prosciutto and smoked salmon (lox) and assorted nuts /dried fruits to mix as you please including macadamia nuts (which looked like peanuts). You also could order from a breakfast menu which had many tasty choices. Coffee service is very slow but is very good made from a restaurant espresso machine. Every lunch and dinner had a choice of appetizer, a choice of main, and a choice of dessert. The dessert choices always included a "pastry" and a flavor of ice cream and of sorbet. The coconut sorbet was the creamiest, fluffiest, tastiest "ice cream" ever. The Wednesday cold room all you could eat desserts was a nice surprise though if we had been told about it in advance we would have had a lighter lunch to better enjoy the large selection of desserts, many of which had not been on the menu. There I tried the rainbow colored (kids?) pound cake which was very buttery and moist. Lunch was greatly enhanced by the surroundings -- eating on the sand next to the beautiful aquamarine and turquoise ocean under the shade of palm trees was fabulous. The Fiji night dinner was very good. All meals included free soft drinks and we could get soft drinks from the bar any time. The trip to Little Vomo is well worth doing. You have a private island for a few hours with linen covered eating table to have the picnic lunch, cushioned chaise lounge chairs and there is even a secluded "tree house" with cushioned chaise lounge chairs. The daily snorkel trips are great as is snorkeling right from the beach. The Rocks bar is great although it should have open hours through sunset every night. Walking back on the path lit by tiki torches is fun and much better than the minivan which they always offered.
Vomo Cons:
Food that was spicy though not marked as spicy on the menu such as Thai style dishes.
Not knowing the menu until the meal. It would have been nice if they posted the lunch and dinner menu for the day at breakfast time so people who are pickier eaters could plan their food for the day.
When arriving by ferry or seaplane you have to step from the transfer boat into the shallow water. There is no pier. It would be nice if they at least had a gangplank that could be put from the bow of the transfer boat to dry sand for arrivals to walk across who may not have dressed for getting their feet/lower legs wet.
Overall Vomo is my favorite South Pacific island over others (Moorea, Bora Bora, Tikehau, Roratonga, Autitauki) that I have been to. read less - 22/08/19 - Olga K

We loved everything about Vomo and even though we had huge expectations going there, Vomo beat them on every score.
The island is MAGICAL - turquoise water, lush gardens, exotic flowers, wild fruit.. you name it! The island is huge and private, we spent days (and nights!) exploring it and we found something extraordinary every single day! We also had a blast exploring the beautiful underwater world of Vomo - Vomo's Ocean Play crew took us to different snorkerling spots every day to show us Vomo's rich fauna and flora!! I think something we didn't appreciate until we were there was that Vomo owns the entire island - so if it's windy on one side of the island the opposite side of the island has no waves... so you can snorkel every single day!
The food was divine - the menu was changed daily... and offers something for everyone - we wish we could eat it all. The produce was fresh, the flavours were punchy and the menus were interesting. I highly recommend giving the Rocks a try too! We loved the South East Asian-inspired menu which was perfect for the hot weather!
We had a hillside villa - because the beachfront villas were sold out.. and we couldnt be happier! the views were amazing from our villa, which was spacious and tastefully furnished.
We would also like to recognize and thank each and everyone at Vomo – including those amazing people who work behind the scenes and whom we never got to meet and thank in person – you made our stay special and magical. Everyone at Vomo is kind and generous and went above and beyond to make our stay and my 30th birthday unforgettable. we are forever grateful. See you next year! read less - 07/10/19 - heather081597

My husband and I have traveled all over the world to some pretty amazing places. We have never been more impressed than we were with our experience here. It is rare to feel as though you are genuinely cared for as a person when staying at a hotel, but you do here. We were consistently flabbergasted by the fact that all staff members seemed to know our names, our villa number, and our dietary restrictions. Even the general manager knew who we were, probably because he greeted us when we arrived and sent us off at the end of our stay. You won’t get that kind of care at any hotel I can think of.
If we needed anything, it was taken care of right away. There was a dessert that was incredible, I asked for another and they brought it happily. They made my husband a special meal that he had enjoyed from the day before, even though they didn’t have all of the same ingredients. And don’t even get me started with how they celebrated my birthday. I don’t want to give any spoilers, but I can tell you that it has been a long time since I felt that special.
From beginning to end, we had only excellent experiences. The food is so good that we are having a hard time adjusting back to “normal” American food. The Sunday Dessert Heaven was one of the highlights of my life, I think (plus the caramelized banana parfait, holy cow that was good). After every meal, one of us would say, “man, I can’t wait for the next meal!” Unfortunately, that meant the addition of several pounds of body weight during our stay.
The room was beautiful. It is totally worth getting a beachfront villa, the view is spectacular. The activities are awesome, and Fiji Night was so great. I could literally go on and on. We were so sad to leave, many of the team members felt like friends by the end of our trip. If their sentiments are real, then they have found a rare group of people to work there. If their sentiments are not genuine, well, consider me fooled.
Is it expensive? Yes. Is it a small island? Definitely. Is it worth it? Absolutely, every penny. We can’t wait to return as soon as we can. read less - 25/09/19 - Pierre198555

Food, up there with the best. little things make a difference for us. Like our room was cleaned every morning perfect timing to when we went to breakfast, Turn down, perfect timing to when we were at dinner. We have already started planning our return, and that date can not come soon enough. read less - 09/09/19

It’s still just as amazing as always, the island itself being absolute paradise. It’s so beautiful, peaceful, and the water is crystal clear.
It was so nice to see the same familiar faces working there- a true testament to the way Vomo looks after their staff.
Standouts this trip: the spa, it’s still the best massage I’ve ever had.
The Sunday sessions at the rocks- many of the guests had sore heads on Monday, lots of fun and a great way to meet & mingle with other guests.
Spice night at the rocks- delicious.
Day trip to little Vomo, we did this with the kids and loved having an island to ourself for the day.
The staff- they are amazing and genuine. Shout out to Tim & Jason- you are superstars.
I love the small island vibe, and that by the end of the week I’d made so many new friends. It was also lovely to see other guests by coincidence that we had met on previous visits to the island.
Looking forward to our next visit. read less - 28/05/22 Travelalot312

We choose Vomo because it is a family place and we all love to dive - and the diving was fantastic. Even the snorkeling was incredible. Accommodations are luxury without being over the top. The dining was better than expected and our family voted it as "great". From my picky 12 year old to my 19 year old - everyone enjoyed and Vomo did a nice 'special' dinner on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Best is the range of activities. Water sports of all types and excursions to Little Vomo and beyond as well as the fun workout of climbing Mt. Vomo or circumnavigating the island at low tide. The adult pool was under construction when we were there and that will be a great addition for those who want some away time. Having said that, we always had plenty of 'space' with beach to ourselves. We will visit again for sure. read less - 31/01/19

We stayed at The Residence villa and were SO spoiled with attention and the fabulous accommodation and setting of the place . It has its own beautiful pool but the divine beach is a few steps away too. It’s totally private and we also had the smiling and helpful Vani who was our “butler “ but really became like one of our family group for the trip . Whilst we were snorkeling every morning on the INCREDIBLE morning snorkeling trips , she would stay with mum and keep her company . Mum cried when leaving her and I think Vani was a bit teary too !
From the welcome drinks and song to the good bye , nothing was too much trouble and everything done with a smile ! The staff were so terrific. The setting ideal for a “ do nothing much” laze around Island holiday with good food !
The evening drinks in the adult only sunset bar was a high light too.
Would definitely return for some R & R and snorkeling in the future.
My only comment is that I would have liked a few more environmental touches like not seeing the aircon on all the time etc .. read less - 24/12/18- davieswoman

The Villas are really spacious and well appointed all with lovely views of the sea.
What really impressed us was the service and cuisine. The service was always prompt and friendly. the food was delicious, fresh and well presented. All food and non alcoholic beverages are included in the daily rate.
While family friendly there is a completely separate are for adults only called The Rocks with a magnificent pool, bar and restaurant. Amongst the best I have seen.
The Resort has a great tennis court, 9 hole golf course, gym and walking/hiking trails if you are after some exercise. read less - 17/09/19
