We are proud members of Pack for a Purpose, an initiative that allows travellers like you to make a lasting impact in the community at your travel destination. If you save just a few kilos of space in your suitcase and bring supplies for Fijian villages and local schools in need, you’ll make a priceless impact in the lives of our local children and families. VOMO supports 2 local villages at the bottom of Yasawa islands, located just 30 mins by boat from the resort. Yamata Village is home to 130 adults and 70 children, and Yalobi Village is home to 158 adults and 46 children. Items in need include clothings, shoes, linen, fiction and non fiction books for all ages, educational material and stationery. Toys, musical instruments, sporting gear and health items would be greatly appreciated as well.

Items donated will be passed onto the villagers by our team, however guests are also welcome to personally donate to the villagers by arranging a Village Visit for a unique cultural experience. Please contact Ocean Play for prices on the tour.

CURE KIDS FIJI

Children are such a precious part of our community and yet sadly, far too many lose their lives to illnesses that would be more readily able to be treated in other parts of the world. VOMO is a very proud supporter of Cure Kids Fiji and we are passionate about raising funds to help buy vital medical equipment to help children in Fiji receive the treatment they need. VOMO has been closely associated with helping to raise funds for children in Fiji with Rheumatic Heart Disease. Funds raised have helped to provide ongoing testing and treatments. Guests are given the opportunity of making a small donation upon check-out or you can join in the Mt Vomo Challenge. Everyone who pays $10 to walk or run to the summit of Mt Vomo, will go in the draw to win a 5 night stay in a Beachfront Villa at VOMO, drawn each year around October.
