Oh how glad we are that we returned! Every single element of our trip was just spectacular. The staff, the rooms, the reef, the food, the kids club...the entire experience was nothing short of INCREDIBLE and every element that previously made us unsure of our return was resolved.
On our last trip we felt the resort vibe lacked the relaxed family feeling we craved but the addition of an "adults only" pool this time has completely changed that. It allows choice for those guests who may not want to share their pool and deck space with children. This takes the stress off parents who want to ensure their kids aren't disturbing others wanting some peace and quiet. This time they even had a kids club group entirely devoted to amusing older children and that included games like Marco Polo in the pool!
The other thing that seemed to be different this time around was the staff and management. They just seemed genuinely themselves. Their personalities shone through and they seemed relaxed enough to chat and share stories, give advice and have a laugh, all the while, ensuring glasses were filled, tables were cleared and children felt welcomed and cared for. Every single day the management team took the time to chat candidly to their guests about their day. They built relationships that made them super approachable and ensured no questions remained unanswered. Game changer guys!
So how about the kids club? My 9 year old CRIED when we left because he was so in love with the beautiful people who cared for him in kids club which is a huge deal for him as he isn't a particularly emotional child. The resort now have two seperate programs, one for younger children and one that caters for older children. That said, they are also flexible with these programs based on the interests of the children. The children can choose what they want to take part in and sometimes set activities were changed if the kids at the kids club simply wanted to do something different! My youngest (6) was technically too young for the older group his 9 year old brother was in, but that was not an issue. When they realised he wanted to join in with the older children, the resort added an extra adult to the group when they did a snorkelling activity to cater for my youngest and ensure he was safe in the water (does it get more personalised that that???)! Some of the activities they did were: crab racing, snorkelling, tshirt painting, cooking, bonfires, kayaking, playing in the pool, outdoor movie nights, tennis etc etc the list goes on and on and on. Our kids even ditched us on our last night together to have dinner in the kids club and play with their friends! hahah
Just as before the island was paradise. Crystal clear water teeming with fish footsteps from the sand, rainbow reefs accessed from the beach or a daily snorkel trip. This time we swam with reef sharks, saw turtles, collected crabs and even swam amongst a school of fish while giant sea birds dived in after them all around us (my children will never forget that one).
We have already decided when we will return next year and we truly feel like we will be returning home. Thankyou for having us Vomo. We had the most amazing time! More read less - 30/05/22

It’s still just as amazing as always, the island itself being absolute paradise. It’s so beautiful, peaceful, and the water is crystal clear.
It was so nice to see the same familiar faces working there- a true testament to the way Vomo looks after their staff.
Standouts this trip: the spa, it’s still the best massage I’ve ever had.
The Sunday sessions at the rocks- many of the guests had sore heads on Monday, lots of fun and a great way to meet & mingle with other guests.
Spice night at the rocks- delicious.
Day trip to little Vomo, we did this with the kids and loved having an island to ourself for the day.
The staff- they are amazing and genuine. Shout out to Tim & Jason- you are superstars.
I love the small island vibe, and that by the end of the week I’d made so many new friends. It was also lovely to see other guests by coincidence that we had met on previous visits to the island.
Looking forward to our next visit. read less - 28/05/22

This resort does not disappoint. It is an 10 minute helicopter ride to Vomo but what a beautiful trip it is. The pilot circled the island for us before he landed so that we could see it from the air.
We stayed in a beachfront bure which are very well furnished, luxurious and spacious. You have your own beachfront hammock and also beach loungers both on your deck and on the beach so there are plenty of places to relax and read. From our loungers, we watched bait balls (big schools of fish) each twilight being chased by larger fish and small reef sharks and dive bombed by herons - it was an exhilarating sight we looked forward to.
Ocean Play was great. The staff were friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, accommodating and also had great senses of humour. We loved the activities as much as we loved spending time with them. The snorkelling trips each day by boat were free and gorgeous. The reefs around the island have abundant sea life and corals. Note that the snorkelling from shore on both Eastern and Yasawa Beaches were equally as amazing. We dived - which we loved - and also kayaked to Vomo Lai Lai - the adjoining island, passing a turtle on the way.
The adults pool was a stand-out. Amazing loungers of all shapes and sizes and designs, and so many. The food is served at the pool and in the restaurant, and so are the drinks. It is quiet and even though the resort was full, it felt empty with plenty of quiet places all to yourself.
The walk to the top of Mount Vomo gets your heart racing but is well worth it to see the view, as is the walk around the island.
We loved it - can you tell?
Special thanks to Tim, the manager, who made our trip very special, and to Tila, the waitress, who always knew the best dish to order and looked after us at each meal. The staff are great, friendly, kind and courteous. They really add to the specialness of this resort. read less - 22/05/22

My family and I stayed in Vomo for 5 nights and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
We managed to detox the body and mind through the friendly Fijian culture along with breath taking waters and natural scenery.
We were already well looked after by the Vomo team and lovely people like Chris and Ekari made sure our meal times were that little bit extra special. Tamani and his boys were amazing guides and always tried to fit in our requests.
We had a great time and Vomo is on our return list. read less - 25/04/22

We... read moreThis was our second trip to Vomo and it was every bit as magic as the first. We stayed in a beachfront villa that was very comfortable and just a short stroll to the restaurant, pool and Ocean Play.
We arrived by boat and from the moment you step onto the sand of the beach you know that you are somewhere that's just a little bit special. The island is spectacular and the mostly Fijian team are attentive but never intrusive, making you feel like a guest in their home.
We stayed for 8 nights and really felt like we were part of the Vomo family. The staff were always helpful and as they got to know us made the effort to be that one step ahead, particularly with the kids. Our kids are 8 and 6 and were perhaps transitioning from Kids Village but still enjoyed spending a couple hours there most days to do the activities like hermit crab racing. But, thanks to the four hours of baby butler available each day, they were also able to head down to Ocean Play for beachside activities or simply to play in the main pool (all day long - thank Siko!). That gave my wife and I the actual and mental space to truly unwind and to wander down to The Rocks a couple of times for a sunset - or lunchtime - cocktail or two.
All meals are included, with lunch and dinner being three course affairs, should you wish. The menu changes daily and while we were there The Rocks Bar offered adults only dining three nights per week.
A definite highlight was the snorkelling trip to White Rock where we had the chance to swim with reef sharks. The small number of guests means that everyone becomes familiar and our kids easily made friends with others on the island. Highly recommend. read less - 23/04/22

If your idea of a dream holiday, is idyllic white sand beaches, great pools, fantastic food, and beautiful well appointed 5-star bures, then Vomo will suit you well. The friendly helpful staff make this resort even better. The new Reefside adult only side adds a new dynamic, but the whole resort is fantastic whether you have come with the family or not.
The cost included meals are the best we have encountered in the Pacific. First rate food that would not be out of place in the better restaurants of AUCKLAND.
Definitely worth splashing out for the helicopter transfer from Nadi airport. read less - 30/10/19

The transfer is smooth, convenient and sees you on the island in around one and a half hours from leaving the Nadi departure lounge. Vomo meets you, takes you on an easy just over 30 minute drive to Vuda Marina where a fast, clean boat is waiting to transport guests to the island. Alternatively, they recommend helicopter from Nadi International, or there is an option to use float plane (this sometimes requires customers to wait extended periods of time before transportation).
On arrival at Vomo the greeting is the normal, friendly Fijian welcome. At this stage I must point out the staff are friendly, relaxed and attentive. A special mention of Tim who we met on another resort years ago, great service, knowledge and help throughout our stay.
Our accommodation was on the hillside, a small but steep climb which was pleasant and offered nice water and foliage views. The room was well appointment and the cleaning done efficiently each day. Bathroom was spacious, decks lovely with nice sunbed and small table and chairs to enjoy. The bedroom was adequate and a curtain can be drawn across for guests with children. The fridge is well stocked with both nibbles and non-alcoholic, complimentary beverages. Loved the cookies given every couple of days to enjoy and the complimentary laundry service is appreciated as the chore of washing clothes becomes tiresome and difficult.
We enjoy walking and made the trip to the yoga platform and around most of the beaches. Didn’t get to Eastern Beach as the rocks were slippery and our footwear inadequate. Some of the climbs are steep and should be done early in the day, when the heat is not excessive. The views from vantage points are spectacular and the grounds on the island are beautifully maintained. There is a small library, TV room (TV’s were not in our room. Although we do not often watch we do like the option especially in inclement weather). Children appear well catered for with a kids club and many smiling staff members occupying the smaller guests. There is even golf for those so inclined.
Off island activities are the normal and we did thoroughly enjoy the picnic. It is on a small, steep island just off Vomo itself. Interesting rock formations, caves and although the beach is small it is beautiful and the water crystal clear. The packed lunch was lovely and the addition of table and chairs on the beach a nice touch.
“The Rocks” is an adults only area. The location is beautiful, the pool luke warm and the view gorgeous. The attention around the pool, by staff, is efficient and friendly and a small van/bus can transport quests if they do not wish to walk. The bar area is pleasant and there is a restaurant with lovely water views. The evening meal is offered, at this stage, twice per week. We ate here once and enjoyed the meal. However, we did not have a memorable lunch and preferred what was available in the main restaurant. This is obviously only our opinion but some more “ordinary” choices would have been appreciated as many were not to our taste. We do dine overseas, including Fiji, extensively.
The main restaurant offers breakfast and includes a cool room. We have not seen this at another resort and it was fantastic keeping food fresh and free of flies. Lovo evening was superb and the service good with attention to detail that is often lacking in Fijian resorts. The meals were good, but not the most memorable part of our stay (Lovo night had an exceptional and decadent dessert choice). A special mention to Zac whose incredible voice we have enjoyed in the past (at a resort we often frequent). Lovely to hear him again and enjoy one of the best voices we have come across in Fiji.
One of our main concerns, before this visit, was that Vomo might be too formal to suit us. Definitely this was not the case. They are relaxed and attentive, while obviously you can dress formally if you so wish, most people are there to step back, enjoy Fiji and the beach/holiday atmosphere. We will definitely be back to Vomo in the future and have no hesitation in recommending it to both families, individuals and couples. read less - 24/10/19

The island is MAGICAL - turquoise water, lush gardens, exotic flowers, wild fruit.. you name it! The island is huge and private, we spent days (and nights!) exploring it and we found something extraordinary every single day! We also had a blast exploring the beautiful underwater world of Vomo - Vomo's Ocean Play crew took us to different snorkerling spots every day to show us Vomo's rich fauna and flora!! I think something we didn't appreciate until we were there was that Vomo owns the entire island - so if it's windy on one side of the island the opposite side of the island has no waves... so you can snorkel every single day!
The food was divine - the menu was changed daily... and offers something for everyone - we wish we could eat it all. The produce was fresh, the flavours were punchy and the menus were interesting. I highly recommend giving the Rocks a try too! We loved the South East Asian-inspired menu which was perfect for the hot weather!
We had a hillside villa - because the beachfront villas were sold out.. and we couldnt be happier! the views were amazing from our villa, which was spacious and tastefully furnished.
We would also like to recognize and thank each and everyone at Vomo – including those amazing people who work behind the scenes and whom we never got to meet and thank in person – you made our stay special and magical. Everyone at Vomo is kind and generous and went above and beyond to make our stay and my 30th birthday unforgettable. we are forever grateful. See you next year! read less - 07/10/19

If we needed anything, it was taken care of right away. There was a dessert that was incredible, I asked for another and they brought it happily. They made my husband a special meal that he had enjoyed from the day before, even though they didn’t have all of the same ingredients. And don’t even get me started with how they celebrated my birthday. I don’t want to give any spoilers, but I can tell you that it has been a long time since I felt that special.
From beginning to end, we had only excellent experiences. The food is so good that we are having a hard time adjusting back to “normal” American food. The Sunday Dessert Heaven was one of the highlights of my life, I think (plus the caramelized banana parfait, holy cow that was good). After every meal, one of us would say, “man, I can’t wait for the next meal!” Unfortunately, that meant the addition of several pounds of body weight during our stay.
The room was beautiful. It is totally worth getting a beachfront villa, the view is spectacular. The activities are awesome, and Fiji Night was so great. I could literally go on and on. We were so sad to leave, many of the team members felt like friends by the end of our trip. If their sentiments are real, then they have found a rare group of people to work there. If their sentiments are not genuine, well, consider me fooled.
Is it expensive? Yes. Is it a small island? Definitely. Is it worth it? Absolutely, every penny. We can’t wait to return as soon as we can. read less - 25/09/19
