The entire staff is the friendliest you meet anyplace, often a cliche but here it's a real tangible asset.
Food is varied and great in quality.
Recommended: Complimentary snorkeling tour is excellent and we liked a picnic on little Vomo, an uninhabited neighbor island. Spa was good as well.
The beach quality compared to other great resorts is good but not excellent, too many rocks, even though the water is clear. Interestingly, the beach quality on the other side of the the resort, called Mamanuka Beach, is better. Although it's only a 10 min walk from the villas, it is always empty and with no facilities other than a few sunbeds. There are a couple of signs on the way to Rocks restaurant. Worth a visit.
Beach villas are good quality. - 01/04/24

The food is beyond compare - both varied and delicious at every meal.
We especially need to call out the Ocean Play and activities team for how much fun they made the holiday for both our boys - from learning about turtle conservation to beach volleyball each afternoon that turned into quite the competition! Lai the marine biologist was so patient with our youngest who was full of questions - and I can’t even name all of the awesome guys that kept the teenagers laughing and playing all day!
There is such an array of bespoke and curated experiences to enjoy, although the simple pleasure of waking in the morning and walking straight into crystal blue waters to snorkel amongst vibrant reef and fish is still a highlight.
Much of the team at Vomo have been there for many years - which speaks volumes of why the staff seem so happy and genuinely enjoying their jobs something that translates into their investment in making every stay a special one.
We have already booked to return, which will be our third visit of no doubt many more.
A place to unwind, to disconnect from things that bring stress into your life and to reconnect as a family.
It is simply an unmatched experience. - 01/04/24

Vomo Island Hotel stands as a benchmark for all hotels in this category for its service, quality of water activities, excursions and food.
Thank you to the hotel and all the wonderful hospitality. In particular thank you to Salah, chef Ajay and the management team for making us feel welcome. - 01/03/24

They go out of their way to ensure you are having a good time. Weather was not in our favor but we had the best of the time celebrating milestone birthday here. Michael the manager is doing very well operating the place and so was the chef Ajay. They prepared special treat for my birthday on request as well. They are a great team and very generous to make your birthday special.
Vou at the oceans play was always engaged and taught us sailing, as well as showed the best spots for snorkeling. We went fishing one day, that was nice. The reefs are gorgeous and lots of marine life. Everyone takes the time to say hello and ensure you are doing fine.
Kids club is big, clean and very friendly. Wonderful on ensuring kids are fed, and having fun. They do put a show on Wednesday where kids are part of it. Adorable 🥰
One of a kind vacation! The villas are luxurious and rooms are all very modern. Highly recommended it. - 01/03/24

You really could come here for a week and spend no additional money as non alcoholic drinks, kayaks, daily laundry service, snorkelling trips are all included. We both needed to see the doctor here and she was great. The spa is excellent too.
There's an element of 'Fiji time' everywhere on Fiji so whilst you occasionally have to wait for your drink, the rest more than compensates.
The staff really are friendly and approachable. The Wednesday music night isn't a fake show of Fiji culture as one might expect but the staff just showing you how they love to cook and sing. And they can sing!
Don't come here if you want deference or to show off or to party or if you're noisy and want loud music. The live music at dinner is just local Fijian guitar singing.
It's both couples and families here so head for Rocks for adults only, which has a great pool. Having said that all the children and grown ups were impeccably behaved. - 01/02/24

We especially enjoyed the food and drinks and looked forward to the changing menu every day. The daily snorkeling tours were also very nice and the Hobie Cats were so much fun to take out.
There were a few things that we felt could be improved to make this a truly outstanding resort. The biggest issue for us was the beach. We had (possibly mistakenly) considered this a beach resort and while there is a beautiful beach, there are absolutely no beach chairs or service on the beach. As we did not book a beachfront villa, this made relaxing on the beach difficult. You may order lunch on the beach but this is table service only. I would recommend adding some loungers and umbrellas on the beach for guests.
My only other comment would be that the adult pool is far nicer than the family pool. As we traveled with kids, they were disappointed when they saw the adult pool.
Overall, we had an amazing trip. The natural beauty of Vomo Island along with the amazing food and service made this a wonderful end to our vacation, - 01/02/24

Beautiful staff, so helpful and kind. Wonderful beachfront villa, nice and large and very comfortable, only a 10 second walk to the beautiful beach for amazing snorkelling straight off the beach, even saw turtles.
The food was amazing at both restaurants. With my dietary requirement, I was given my own printed special menu every night with my name, so special.
We can't wait until we come back to Vomo in the future for another wonderful holiday. - 01/02/24

Highlights:
Food - All meals are superb and so fresh. The Meke Night (Wednesday) dessert bar is something else.
Little Vomo Island Couples Snorkel and Picnic. SO special! Just do it. Book in early.
White Rock Snorkelling and Reef Shark Snorkelling. It was awesome and delivered in so many ways.
Cocktails are $$$ at $30-$35FJD. Yet they taste superb and the setting is fantastic. We packed our own alcohol and added to mocktails which were free of charge for us.
The management are really eager to please and Justin/Jason were approachable, present and popped up all over the place.
The Rocks Restaurant was amazing. The view of the island will leave you spellbound. Just be careful - it gets really hot out there.
Room - We stayed in a beachside villa. HONESTLY, it is 15 steps until the beach. The bathrooms are spacious and the room has a lovely deck which is great for a drink.
The laundry service (20 items washed and folded) was hammered. We travelled with two kids.
Kids Club - a great schedule and wide variety of things offered. You could go snorkelling, swimming, paint t-shirts, play on the playground etc. Lots offered.
Climb Mt Vomo. Great view. We went out to the yoga deck and then walked around Todd’s Trail. The walk wasn’t too bad. Just watch climbing after rain.
The spa was superb. I melted into a treatment and had to rescue myself from falling asleep a few too many times.
Adequate gym with treadmill, corded machine, jogger, bike and dumbbells. They provide towels and water in there.
If I was picky:
Sometimes communication issues can arise. They mistook the booking on one of our activities. It got sorted easily. Changing plans can also be tricky if various staff need to be told.
Fiji time exists. So what if your pot of tea takes 20 minutes. I found it best to approach the bar, order, sit nearby and then bring the beverage back to the table. I don’t sweat the small stuff and I am here to relax.
The Boutique for some items is quite $$ for certain items. Then again, I am on holidays
Tip:
The walk to The Rocks from the reception takes 10-20 mins. It is really hot as well. They do offer a shuttle bus between the locations.
Overall
I’ve done 4 trips to Fiji. This hotel is the best by miles. It will take your breath away and relax you. We loved it! - 01/01/24

Our family have been to various Fiji resorts well over a dozen times and other places before that.
This is our third Vomo holiday.
I will start with the negatives so I can finish on a positive.
Negative
Once you stay at Vomo, you will not want to leave or holiday anywhere else!
No matter how long I stay, unlike everywhere else I have stayed, I do not want to leave.
Now the positives.
The location is amazing, if you are wondering if staying in Denarua
Is the same as the islands, it’s not anywhere near the climate, beaches, and the islands just have that relaxed vibe.
Vomo being the best we have ever stayed at.
Accomodation is private, air conditioned and very well
Appointed, we had the two bedroom suite with our own pool etc. incredible.
The food is very good also with an every day changing menu and the staff are so accomodating you would never be left with nothing to eat.
The beaches on Vomo are surrounded by turquoise water, white sands and amazing snorkelling reefs where you will see more tropical fish than you can imagine, right off the beach.
The guys at ocean play can take you fishing, snorkelling, scuba diving or boating to loads of amazing place.
If you have ever been to Fiji you will have experienced “Fiji time”.
It basically means very slow and unenthusiastic service from staff using the excuse for drink orders taking 45 minutes, “we are on Fiji time”.
This does not exist on Vomo. The staff are amazing. They remember us and our kids even when it had been two years between trips.
They bring you drinks without you needing to chase them down because they take an interest in you when you’re staying with them
They are always super friendly and warm and can’t do enough to help you have a great holiday.
Very genuine people that we miss when we leave every time.
It was during our first stay here that we noticed this incredible “difference” to other places. We had only really experienced this level of deep caring service one other place in the world.
That was in the Saphire resort in Tasmania.
Very soon after realising that, we became aware that the manager at saphire when we were there was now the manager at Vomo.
Justin King just creates the most amazing customer experience in two places now he had been in charge.
The similarities in the incredible “feel” Vomo and Saphire brought to us are hallmarks of what Justin King brings to the table as a property manager.
You’re not going to arrive at Vomo and see flash and bling, it’s very nice but not in that way.
But give it a day or two and you will “get it”.
It seems to have the magic ability to remove all your stress, concerns, worries and you just can’t seem to find them in your thoughts.
Vomo and Saphire are two very different properties but Justin created an environment in both that we have not found elsewhere.
This isn’t as much as a holiday as an “escape”.
Leave the world behind, switch off phones and “get it”. - 01/01/24
