The size of VOMO means plenty of exploration on foot available to those who love to give their legs a little island adventure. See our island trek map below.
All guests are encouraged to pack a good pair of walking shoes or joggers and walk or run the trail to the summit of Mt Vomo. It is a short steep walk of around 15 minutes to the summit, although some have completed this run in under 4 minutes.
There are tracks around the base of Mt Vomo that lead to the furthest hill at the eastern end of VOMO. It is approximately 30 minutes walk to this hill, where you will find the yoga deck. From here, the views of the surrounding islands are breathtaking. Highly recommended at sunrise or sunset.
There are around 5km or 3 miles of beaches that encircle VOMO. To circumnavigate the entire island, takes around 1 to 1.5 hours. Along the way you will find numerous deserted beaches, rocky outcrops and beautiful swimming spots. We recommend departing on a falling tide and to advise Ocean Play or Reception of your departure before you leave.
To raise funds for our favourite charity Cure Kids Fiji, VOMO has the Mt Vomo Challenge. Any guests who wish to participate can pay $10 each time they run or walk to the top of Mt Vomo and log their time on the STRAVA APP on their device. Your entry fee goes to charity and you go into the lucky draw to win 5 nights at VOMO.
Whilst the Mt Vomo Challenge is not a time challenge, the best time to beat is 3 minutes 20 seconds by Kunaal Pajpal in 2018.
