What are VOMO’s check-in and check-out times?
Arrival time is 2.00pm. Departure time is 11.00am. Whilst these are our official times, if your villa is available and you’ve arrived earlier in the day, we’d be more than happy for you to occupy your accommodation earlier.
While we guarantee the villas for 2.00pm, we work tirelessly to have your villa ready before time should you wish to arrive early. Even if we cannot have your villa ready by the time you arrive to VOMO, we will ensure that you are very comfortable indeed, and you will still have the entire island and its facilities at your disposal.
Do you offer a laundry service?
VOMO provides a wash and fold laundry service each day. Simply complete the form and pop your laundry into the basket for your villa stylist to collect. This service is complimentary.
Can I access Wi Fi?
Yes! VOMO has very good wifi coverage in most areas of the resort, including The Rocks and in your villa. A code is provided on check-in to activate the VOMO Guest wifi which is free of charge.
Can I snorkel at VOMO?
VOMO offers great snorkelling straight from any of our beaches. Masks, snorkels and fins are provided for adults and children from Ocean Play on complimentary basis.
VOMO also offers an escorted snorkel safari for up to 12 guests each day at 11am, visiting one of 5 sites within close proximity of the resort and with Ocean Play guide. It is advised to book the day prior for the snorkel safari. For enquiries regarding Ocean Play waters sports email firstname.lastname@example.org

Are there any places I can’t go on the island?
Vomo Island is entirely yours to explore and there is only one resort on our expansive 255 acres of island. With 5 kilometres of beaches encircling VOMO, you’ll be able to find your own paradise. Nearly two thirds of VOMO is taken up with mountainous terrain and several trails that lead you to the peaks of Mount Vomo to enjoy the most spectacular views of the Mamanuca and Yasawa islands.
Can I bring my own alcohol?
Guests are welcome to bring personal quantities of bottled wine or spirits in their luggage, to consume in your villa or residence. VOMO provides complimentary soft drinks and mixers in your mini bar in your villa.
If you wish to consume your own wine with dinner, a FJD$30 corkage fee will apply per bottle.
What is the attire at meal times?
Despite our luxury status, VOMO is a relaxed environment with no specific dress regulations. We suggest light comfortable clothing suited to our tropical location. Shoes are entirely optional! Guests are requested to wear a t-shirt or shirt when dining at the restaurants.
If you visit a Fijian village, ladies should have covered shoulders & knees by wearing a sarong (Fijian suu) or dress as a mark of respect.
Are there day trips from the island?
Whilst there are plenty of activities to keep you occupied at VOMO, there are a number of fantastic excursions that can be booked with our Ocean Play team.
Go island hopping around the Mamanuca Islands. We can visit the famous Fiji surf breaks, Cloud 9 floating bar, the island where Tom Hanks made Cast Away the movie, or travel north to the Blue Lagoon Caves in the Yasawa Islands. Your day out will include gourmet picnic lunches, so that nobody has to miss out on VOMO’s delicious cuisine.
Each week, we offer a half day visit to a Fijian village on another island. Guests may wish to join our ‘Pack for A Purpose’ initiative and bring some second hand or new books, clothing, sports equipment, stationery etc to donate to the village, if there is a little room in your luggage.
Do you have dairy milk substitutes?
VOMO has rice milk, soy milk and almond milk available. If you will require large quantities for infant feeding for example, please email email@example.com to ensure stock levels are adequate prior to your arrival.
The milk served at VOMO is UHT treated as there is no pasteurisation of milk in Fiji. It tastes just like normal milk and we find most children and adults enjoy the flavour.
Does VOMO offer inter-connecting rooms
All VOMO Beachfront Villas and Beachfront Retreats have the ability to be inter-connecting to a second identical villa. They have an internal door that is unlocked to the neighbouring villa if booked. Each Beachfront Villa or Retreat has one king bed + one single bed or the king bed can be configured into twin beds. In addition, there is also a single daybed enabling three people to sleep on existing bedding. Extra costs are charged for the third adult or child in each villa, to cover their meals, non alcoholic beverages and resort included activities.
If you are looking for a one room villa for a family of 5, we can accommodate two adults & up to three children aged up to 16 years, in our Beachfront Retreats.
Why not email our Reservations team with details of your family and group and let us help guide you to the best accommodation for your needs?

I have older children? Do you have activities for older kids?
Yes! We acknowledge there is a time when young children decide our Kids Village just isn’t their thing anymore. Although sad for our Baby Butlers to see our guest children grow we accommodate a little more freedom for our older kids from 7 years up and provide imaginative and adventurous island activities still under the watchful eye of our staff.

What is the best time of year to visit Fiji?
Fiji enjoys a warm climate year round. During the months of November to March, the sea temperatures are a little warmer and there is more likelihood of an afternoon tropical downpour that often doesn’t last long at all.
VOMO is located on the drier side of Fiji and it is said the small islands get 30% less rainfall than the mainland.
The peak season for Fiji is during the Southern Hemisphere winter & autumn, with the most popular months being from June to October and whilst the sea temperatures are a degree or two cooler, it is still very warm in the ocean.
If you do travel outside peak season, you will enjoy some wonderful savings on our package deal offers, across selected dates.
What currency are the rates on your website quoted in?
All prices are quoted in Fiji dollars. Unless stated otherwise, they include Fiji Government taxes, currently at 25%.
For rate conversions it is best to consult the internet or your banking partner. Otherwise go to our Book Now button and change the currency to your local preferred currency.
Should I take travel insurance?
It is very important that all guests arriving at VOMO have adequate travel insurance coverage, should the unexpected happen and you need to cancel your stay or return home early. For the relative low cost of a travel insurance policy, you are then assured that you can access assistance from the insurer if the unlikely happens. It is also recommended that this policy is purchased as soon as you make payment for your planned stay.
Can you book private island picnics
Vomo Lailai (means ‘little’ in Fijian) is VOMO’s baby sister island. Located just one kilometre from VOMO, this tiny island has a beautiful beach, amazing rocky outcrops and surrounded by clear waters, perfect for snorkelling and swimming. The island can be rented to one romantic couple or family/group per day, so you have exclusive use of the island.
VOMO’s Indulge team will prepare a gourmet picnic and provide a decadent setting with clothed white table and chairs, sun loungers and beach towels. You’ll be taken by speedboat to the island and left with a two way radio so you can call us when you want to be ‘rescued’ from your deserted island. Rates from FJD$200 per person. Alcoholic beverages not included. The island is solely for the use of VOMO guests and only one party per day may book the island.
Private picnics can also be delivered to beautiful locations around the island, included the Mamanuca Beach, the Yoga Deck at the western end of Mt Vomo, or to your villa.
For reservations email email@example.com
Do you have cots on the island?
Yes! As one of Fiji’s premier luxury family resorts, we’ve ensured the comfort of families with small children.
They are the fold up travel kind. Linen is supplied.
