The VOMO family rolls up sporty sleeves and helps Alex compete in the best remote sports day ever!
For those of you who may not be aware, our General Manager, Justin King’s son, Alex, attends the Alice Springs School of the Air, learning remotely on VOMO Island. With all the adventurous perks of island life for a little boy, at times the primary school friendships and fun are certainly missed.
In keeping with the Australian school sports curriculum, one of Alex’s recent projects was to complete some athletic tasks.
It’s a little hard to kick a football from Fiji to Australia and play with the other students from his online school so what was Alex to do?
With the help of his beautiful VOMO family, Alex created a sports event to rival any grand final day. Complete with a ceremonial war dance to commence the competition, VOMO staff joined in for a fun-filled day of tug of war, ball sports, egg and spoon races and more.
It was sports gold.
They sent videos (see below!) and photos back to Alice Springs and Alex was highly commended by his teachers for his innovation and enthusiasm in running his first sporting event, with the expert help of our very own VOMO Personal Trainer and the entire VOMO family!
On island, our spirits remain high.
