VOMO Island Resort launches exclusive signature craft beer in partnership with Emerson’s Brewery

VOMO Island, Fiji has unveiled its own signature craft beer, VOMO Pale Ale, created in partnership with New Zealand’s renowned Emerson’s Brewery.

Developed to celebrate the opening of the resort’s new Vuda Bar, VOMO Pale Ale has been crafted as a beer that reflects the spirit of the island itself — bright, refreshing, tropical and effortlessly enjoyable.

The new VOMO Pale Ale delivers vibrant tropical fruit and citrus notes, balanced by a smooth, hazy finish that feels perfectly suited to Fiji’s warm climate and relaxed pace of life.

“At VOMO, every detail of the guest experience is considered, from the food we serve and the spaces we create, through to the moments our guests remember long after they leave the island,” said Leon Pink, General Manager of VOMO Island Resort.

“VOMO Pale Ale is another example of that philosophy. It is more than a beverage; it is part of the atmosphere of the island. Whether enjoyed at Vuda Bar at sunset, on the beach with friends and family, on the deck of The Rocks or from the privacy of a villa, it captures the relaxed, tropical spirit that makes VOMO so special.”

Created exclusively for VOMO, the beer has been designed as an island-wide experience. Guests can enjoy it freshly poured on tap at Vuda Bar, beside the pool, on the beach, during sunset gatherings, on a private picnic at VOMO Lailai, or from chilled cans stocked in the privacy of their villa.

The collaboration was a natural fit for both brands.

“Once we received the invitation from VOMO, we did a little research on the island and quickly realised that VOMO and Emerson’s share similar quality values,” said Greg Menzies, Sales and Marketing Director at Emerson’s Brewery.

“At Emerson’s, we don’t take ourselves seriously, but we take what we do very seriously. That philosophy felt like a great match for VOMO’s unassuming approach to creating exceptional guest experiences.”

Describing the beer’s flavour profile, Greg said the team wanted to create something that captured the feeling of a tropical island escape.

“VOMO Pale Ale is a lovely tropical hazy pale ale, with bright tropical fruit flavours of juicy tangelo and a touch of mango, finished with a crisp, refreshing finish.”

The beer’s tropical character makes it a natural pairing for many of VOMO’s signature dining experiences, complementing freshly caught seafood, grilled dishes, beach barbecues, island-grown produce and relaxed sunset snacks.

For Menzies, the flavour profile was inspired as much by the idea of VOMO as the island itself.

“Sipping a VOMO Pale Ale would be like lying in a hammock on the beach, soaking up the warm Fijian sun with a tropical ocean breeze keeping you cool,” Greg said.
