Look at those smiles – Latest Tournament Results for our NEW Rugby Team

If you’re a rugby fan, you know how important the Fiji Bitter Marist 7s carnival is to the Fijian community. It’s a time when communities come together to cheer on their local rugby teams, and it’s always an exciting day out for locals and Fiji visitors.

We were excited to have our very own local Fiji Rugby 7s side enter the 47th Fiji Bitters Marist tournament this year. Played at the HFC National Stadium in Suva, Team VOMO, led by coach Naruma, our island’s VOMOfit superman, was determined to show their strength and skill in the tournament. And they certainly did just that.

This team worked hard, training twice daily, at 5am and 5pm at VOMO’s staff sports field. Coach Naruma, who himself played rugby at the national level, knew precisely how to get the best out of his team, and they responded with all their might.

Despite the early morning wake-up calls and gruelling training schedule, the team was dedicated and motivated to give their all in the competition. Their hard work paid off as they took the field last Saturday, 18 March 2023.

The competition was tough, but the Vomo Island Rugby 7s team played with VOMO warrior might, giving their opponents a run for their money. They won one game and lost two.

With brand new team players, Team VOMO has proven that anything is possible with hard work, dedication, and the support of those around them.

We cannot wait to cheer them on at the next tournament!

Go, boys!
