We were excited to announce our partnership with Counting Coral, bringing their Sculptural Coral Gene Bank project to Vomo Island. As part of our dedication to marine conservation, we proudly hosted this remarkable Coral Gene Bank in our waters, creating a sanctuary to support coral health and resilience.
The Sculptural Coral Gene Bank began as a simple sketch, gradually transforming into intricate metal components that were welded together in Los Angeles, California.
Arrival to VOMO. Three weeks of construction begins…
The monumental sculptures were carefully lowered into the water, unclipped, and repositioned—it was an intense process from start to finish
After weeks of underwater drilling, manoeuvring with float bags, and the dedicated efforts of safety divers, the installation was finally completed. Following three weeks of hard work, the sculpture was ready to support new coral growth.
