- Sam011313Will keep going back! This is our fifth or so visit to Vomo (we got married there in 2011!) and we just keep on going back. We recently celebrated my 40th there and it was truly amazing. They went out of their way to make my day one to remember. The food has improved a lot since last year which shows that they take our feedback onboard. The kids love the snorkelling and the turtles, and my husband is obsessed with the fishing. We have been to other family resorts in Fiji and we keep coming back to Vomo because of the people, the beautiful island and the food. See you all in 2024! - 08/11/23read moreread less
- FionabytheseaAmazing island and resort My husband and I spent a week on Vomo for our 20th wedding anniversary. Having done all of the research and read all the reviews, Vomo was by far my #1 choice as they have a house reef and the island was big enough so that there would be many different activities to choose from.
This resort does not disappoint. It is an 10 minute helicopter ride to Vomo but what a beautiful trip it is. The pilot circled the island for us before he landed so that we could see it from the air.
We stayed in a beachfront bure which are very well furnished, luxurious and spacious. You have your own beachfront hammock and also beach loungers both on your deck and on the beach so there are plenty of places to relax and read. From our loungers, we watched bait balls (big schools of fish) each twilight being chased by larger fish and small reef sharks and dive bombed by herons - it was an exhilarating sight we looked forward to.
Ocean Play was great. The staff were friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, accommodating and also had great senses of humour. We loved the activities as much as we loved spending time with them. The snorkelling trips each day by boat were free and gorgeous. The reefs around the island have abundant sea life and corals. Note that the snorkelling from shore on both Eastern and Yasawa Beaches were equally as amazing. We dived - which we loved - and also kayaked to Vomo Lai Lai - the adjoining island, passing a turtle on the way.
The adults pool was a stand-out. Amazing loungers of all shapes and sizes and designs, and so many. The food is served at the pool and in the restaurant, and so are the drinks. It is quiet and even though the resort was full, it felt empty with plenty of quiet places all to yourself.
The walk to the top of Mount Vomo gets your heart racing but is well worth it to see the view, as is the walk around the island.
We loved it - can you tell?
Special thanks to Tim, the manager, who made our trip very special, and to Tila, the waitress, who always knew the best dish to order and looked after us at each meal. The staff are great, friendly, kind and courteous. They really add to the specialness of this resort. - 22/05/22read moreread less - Karen CA Truly Magical Place Staying at the Reef House was simply stunning. Our family had the most magical week snorkelling, swimming, and relaxing by the incredible pool. The meals and dining were wonderful and the kids club and baby butler, made for an incredible holiday for our little ones. Sincere thanks to the entire Vomo Family for taking great care of us. Fiji night and swimming with the sharks was the best. We will be back. The Cash Family. - 01/05/23read moreread less
- davidP3883RPFrom the moment we arrived we were impressed. After a short 8 minute helicopter transfer from Nadi we arrived to a very warm welcome on Vomo and check-in formalities were kept very personal and very relaxed. The delicious fresh pineapple and ginger juice was a treat.
The Villas are really spacious and well appointed all with lovely views of the sea.
What really impressed us was the service and cuisine. The service was always prompt and friendly. the food was delicious, fresh and well presented. All food and non alcoholic beverages are included in the daily rate.
While family friendly there is a completely separate are for adults only called The Rocks with a magnificent pool, bar and restaurant. Amongst the best I have seen.
The Resort has a great tennis court, 9 hole golf course, gym and walking/hiking trails if you are after some exercise. - 17/09/19read moreread less - Sierra Escape2nd stay and equally as amazing We just stayed at Vomo for the 2nd time - this time with our 2 children and had the most amazing week. The staff are incredible, the location sublime, and the service unrivalled. The team go above and beyond to make you feel part of the family and create an incredibly warm and friendly environment for everyone. We were fortunate to be there for the launch of a new menu and it was a fantastic dining experience. Easily some of the best food I’ve had in Fiji. Sunrise swims on the beach, and traditional Fijian night were two of many highlights we had. Vinaka vaka Levu Vomo Island, we will be back! - 01/03/23read moreread less
- Donal CThe staff are what makes it We had an absolutely amazing time. We stayed for 7 nights and will definitely stay again. The island is stunning and the accommodation facilities are excellent, but it is the staff and their customer care which really sets it apart. We had so many fantastic staff interactions, that it became hard to tell what was exceptional anymore. We’ve stayed places before, where one or two staff members might be excellent, but never somewhere where it’s so consistently the whole team, like in VOMO. The staff genuinely care about the guests and making sure they have a great time and they remember all the conversations where they try to get to know you, which is really impressive. They are really attentive around food allergies as well. There were excellent touches, such a specific menu - 01/11/22read moreread less
- Carla123The best luxury family holiday Our second time at Vomo and it will certainly not be our last. If you are looking for a luxury family holiday, Vomo is the number one destination in Fiji. As a family with young kids, we could not ask for a better kids club and nanny experience nor a kids menu which suits even the pickiest of eaters. While the resort is luxurious, it is not "stuffy" and kids are always welcome along with resort attire. The snorkelling team are excellent and taught our son how to snorkel with such confidence. It is wonderful to see the kids make friendships with other kids in the pool and at kids club, they all have an absolute ball together. This is amazing as it allows us parents to enjoy family time and "adulting" while on holiday. On adulting time you can enjoy the adults only pool, restaurant, bar or park yourself in a hammock with a book on the beach and you feel like you are the only person on the island. Every meal is cooked to perfection, the menu will cater to your dietary requirements and the management team are always available to check-in to see if you need anything else. We always leave Vomo saying we should of booked an extra few nights, it is never enough. Thank you Vomo family for always making it a memorable and special time. - 01/07/23read moreread less
- tmsgramDreamy experience at Vomo! Traveling from the USA, Vomo is a long way to go. But from the second we arrived, we were treated like royalty and thrilled with our experience!
We spent a week on Vomo for our honeymoon, staying in a hillside villa. The amenities were fantastic - the villa was beautiful, resort grounds extremely well-kept, and dining areas organized and clean.
The island itself would be difficult to beat. It is completely surrounded by beautiful coral. Daily (complimentary) snorkeling excursions explore all the beautiful coral around the island. If you are out-doorsy, take a hike up Mount Vomo, but do this early in the morning or late in the evening so you aren't exposed by the midday sun.
The food, OH the food. It was phenomenal. Every meal offers a starter, entree, and dessert, and we were blown away by almost everything we ate there. Fresh juices and fresh-caught seafood were in almost every meal. We literally watched the staff bring in fish they caught in the morning for meals that day. Unreal!
One of the major highlights was the staff. Every person was so friendly and welcoming. They would literally do anything we asked (and some things we didn't ask) to make our experience unforgettable. Like I said earlier, we truly felt like royalty based on the excellent service. Be sure to get to know the staff members. They are great people, and have so much to share about Fiji and Vomo both.
Finally, the "little things" and attention to detail were really what made Vomo "home". From the nightly turndown service, to every staffmember greeting guests with a hearty "bula", to the cold minted towels at meals on a hot day, to bug spray in the rooms and at the bars, the little things are really what made this island feel like home in our week there.
A few "pro tips":
- If staying in a hillside villa, request one high up on the hill. The walk is difficult to get up there, but the view is SO worth it.
- Grab lunch on the beach - kick off your shoes and enjoy the sand between your toes as you eat!
- Don't miss sunset at the Rocks Bar!
- We took the boat from Port both to & from the island. The boat to the island wasn't bad, but we recommend taking a plane or helicopter back to the airport. It just saves on travel time and keeps you out of the elements at the start of a long journey home.
We really felt like we were leaving our 2nd home when we left Vomo. Thank you & vinaka for such a great week there! - 17/11/18read moreread less - Corinne PDREAM COME TRUE I had been dreaming of going to Vomo for YEARS. We had lived in Fiji for a few years and Vomo was always on my wish list! We finally made it happen for my 40th and it totally exceeded my expectations. From the welcome to the island, the villa was just BEAUTIFUL, the food was exceptional, (at both the adults restaurant and the main restaurant). I wish I could list every single staff member because they were all so wonderful. We have a 5 and 7 year old and they LOVED kids club there. They actually begged us to stay longer whenever we went to collect them! They loved all the staff there and particularly enjoyed their time with Charles. We loved our adult time at the Rocks and always felt so well looked after everywhere we went on the island! I wish I could remember everyone's - 01/03/23read moreread less
