- joejellyStop reading this review and book Vomo! We just returned from 7 nights at Vomo Island with 5 adults and 2 children and had the such a magical time. Vomo is the perfect size island which is big enough to wander and get “lost” on some of the treks and also have an entire picture perfect sandy beach to yourself. You are never truly alone as there is always the amazing stuff who happily great your with a hearty Bula, ask if you want a lift in the Bula Bus or give you some tips on where to snorkel off the beach. The house reef is great and if you want there is a daily snorkel tour that really shows off the beautiful surrounding corals - unlike some resorts off the mainland the coral is thriving here! Accommodations are perfect - if you have enough people definitely look at the residences as it comes with it’s own - 01/12/22read moreread less

The island is beautiful, the snorkeling amazing, the food wonderful but the staff make VOMO so magical. The staff go above and beyond and made our family holiday so special. Thank you for the beautiful memories. 💕 warm regards from The Thomasson Family. - 01/04/23read moreread less
- Niki TAn island retreat, in a heavenly place. What more could one wish for… Where to start from the beginning our entire week was faultless. Our boat transfer to and from Vomo was smooth, comfortable and enjoyable, as we passed all the other islands on our way to Vomo, it was so picturesque. We arrived with the smiling Fijian staff singing in their divine voices a welcome song, as we were each gifted a wooden necklace, which I can say I do wear with several dresses. Our checkin was quick and informative of what we can do and see on the island. We had booked a family villa called The Palms. It sleeps 8. Oh my goodness! It was absolutely stunning, and on the beachfront. We could get up each morning and simply plop into the warm Fijian ocean straight out the front. Amazing. Checkout the website, but in real life The Palms was way better than we expected. We had a sweet Fijian girl Ekka, allocated to look after us from first thing in the morning, to the evening. Ekka discreetly popped up everywhere, wanting to assist where ever was needed. She set the table and arranged lunch to be delivered to our villa from The Rocks restaurant, when we just wanted to hang by our villa pool and not go out. She even went and got a takeaway coffee for us from the main restaurant if we wanted a barista one, instead of the pod machine in the villa, which was used as well and plenty of pods supplied. The fridge was stocked with treats and plenty of ice to make our drinks. Ekka served us at every meal in whatever restaurant we chose, the Rocks or the main restaurant and learnt our likes. The meals we had were fresh and delicious. We did not have a bad meal, breakfast lunch or dinner. The service from every staff member came with a huge smile and a gentleness, and so professional as well. We loved The Rocks, adults only pool and restaurant. The views were beyond spectacular. The Thursday we were there, The Rocks pool area had a fabulous live band that could play anything. Drifting in the pool, holding a margarita and listening to the live vibes whilst starring across the Vomo Lai Lai Island, is a memory I will not forget. The staff also passed around adult ice creams, like a pina colada ice cream and a rum and coke popcicle, whilst we lazed around. Heaven! I snorkelled many times right out the front of The Palms Villa, which was so good. I saw a reef shark and so many fish and the corals were so pretty and colourful. It was just so easy. No boat required. The time we were on the island there were many young families, the island has so many beautiful areas you can be part of the family scene or simply wander and find your own secret spot on the white sandy beach. I could go on and on. It truely was the most relaxing, refreshing and tranquil holiday we had ever been on. Vomo is deserving of its tourism awards. We will be back, maybe even with the grandkids. A big thank you to all the gracious and kind staff of Vomo. - 01/05/23read moreread less
- Corinne PDREAM COME TRUE I had been dreaming of going to Vomo for YEARS. We had lived in Fiji for a few years and Vomo was always on my wish list! We finally made it happen for my 40th and it totally exceeded my expectations. From the welcome to the island, the villa was just BEAUTIFUL, the food was exceptional, (at both the adults restaurant and the main restaurant). I wish I could list every single staff member because they were all so wonderful. We have a 5 and 7 year old and they LOVED kids club there. They actually begged us to stay longer whenever we went to collect them! They loved all the staff there and particularly enjoyed their time with Charles. We loved our adult time at the Rocks and always felt so well looked after everywhere we went on the island! I wish I could remember everyone's - 01/03/23read moreread less
- Martha VThoroughly relaxing We had a 7 night stay without kids in a beachfront villa. The accommodation, snorkeling and food were amazing. The food, omg the food! Vomo is a smallish island, easy to get around but enough space to have your own zone and feel private. Exercise or play golf if you fancy. We loved how quick and easy it was to get there from the airport with boat transfer. Door to door in around 1 hour 10 minutes. The Rocks adult pool and watching the sunsets from the bar/restaurant were wonderful. Again the food kept on delighting night after night. The staff are relaxed and very friendly. Time your visit for the Wednesday management drinks and Fijian night, it’s not to be missed. Beautiful relaxed/relaxing atmosphere. We loved it and will go back taking kids with us. - 01/01/23read moreread less
- GoPlaces61364922333WOW Who would have thought such a small Island in the middle of nowhere could provide such service, food, facilities and fun. Getting there is made easy, the accommodation retains that Fiji charm without compromising luxury. We went there after a few days in Denerau which seemed like a shopping mall and food court by comparison. The island is small and friendly, the staff are unbelievably friendly, right down to the Gardners. They quickly lean your name and preferences and are always smiling. The food is included and it is top knotch. Not endless themed buffets but Al la Carte to suit all. Dining is varied each night to keep you interested. There is a separate dining and pool area that is adults only so you can have peace I’d you want it. There aren’t many kids on the Island so - 01/11/22read moreread less
- TMThe best family holiday I have ever had. This is the best family holiday I have ever been on (2 adults, plus 3yo and 9yo). The staff are extraordinary, and will with authentic care do anything required to take care of your children, any issue, and address any booking you need. The kids club is fantastic and the nannies and 'bulla buddies' (hi Reuben and Una!) are expert at keeping kids of all ages happy. The island is postcard perfect - to the point that our photos probably don't even look real. There is no traffic, and everything seems safe, so kids can run around. The food is to die for. The hiking trails are magnificent, and you can walk around the entire island in 1-2 hours at low tide. The daily snorkelling trip at 11am takes you to accessible reefs with hundreds of fish and living reef. The management and senior staff (and even the owners in our case!) make a point of chatting to you and getting to know you. I just cannot fault this place not speak of it more highly. It is expensive in absolute terms, but the fact that it is 'all inclusive' means you don't ever thinking about the cost of 'this or that', and can just enjoy everything. - 01/07/23read moreread less
- George S" the best time ever ' From the time you arrive at the airport, and check in and leave the island , most incredible experience and memorable holiday anyone can hope for. Arrive to the staff singing the welcome song and then a tearful goodbye song with operatic voices, even brought a tear to my eye. The Staff - never experienced anywhere in the world such service and more importantly with the biggest smiles. Food - was first class. Special mention Jason GM and Tila, who was amazing, caring and I wanted to take her home. Best of all was the coffee I am a coffee nut. Special shout out to water sports team. All round great experience booking again today. - 01/11/22read moreread less
- jharnish03So great we are going back again 1 year later Pros: Our hillside room had a great view of the ocean and Little Vomo off to the side. The room was spacious and beautifully appointed. The patio was roomy with a luxurious 2 person couch with many pillows and when I requested another lounge chair as we were 3 people they brought it up the hill for me. Their service was always fantastic and we were treated like we were very special guest. Every person was cheerful and smiling and would do what they could to make us happy. We arrived before 10 am and they invited us to have a full breakfast while we waited for our room to be made ready. The food was plentiful and mostly fabulous. The breakfasts were superb with a cold room buffet that varied a little and included cold cuts such as prosciutto and smoked salmon (lox) and assorted nuts /dried fruits to mix as you please including macadamia nuts (which looked like peanuts). You also could order from a breakfast menu which had many tasty choices. Coffee service is very slow but is very good made from a restaurant espresso machine. Every lunch and dinner had a choice of appetizer, a choice of main, and a choice of dessert. The dessert choices always included a "pastry" and a flavor of ice cream and of sorbet. The coconut sorbet was the creamiest, fluffiest, tastiest "ice cream" ever. The Wednesday cold room all you could eat desserts was a nice surprise though if we had been told about it in advance we would have had a lighter lunch to better enjoy the large selection of desserts, many of which had not been on the menu. There I tried the rainbow colored (kids?) pound cake which was very buttery and moist. Lunch was greatly enhanced by the surroundings -- eating on the sand next to the beautiful aquamarine and turquoise ocean under the shade of palm trees was fabulous. The Fiji night dinner was very good. All meals included free soft drinks and we could get soft drinks from the bar any time. The trip to Little Vomo is well worth doing. You have a private island for a few hours with linen covered eating table to have the picnic lunch, cushioned chaise lounge chairs and there is even a secluded "tree house" with cushioned chaise lounge chairs. The daily snorkel trips are great as is snorkeling right from the beach. The Rocks bar is great although it should have open hours through sunset every night. Walking back on the path lit by tiki torches is fun and much better than the minivan which they always offered.
Vomo Cons:
Food that was spicy though not marked as spicy on the menu such as Thai style dishes.
Not knowing the menu until the meal. It would have been nice if they posted the lunch and dinner menu for the day at breakfast time so people who are pickier eaters could plan their food for the day.
When arriving by ferry or seaplane you have to step from the transfer boat into the shallow water. There is no pier. It would be nice if they at least had a gangplank that could be put from the bow of the transfer boat to dry sand for arrivals to walk across who may not have dressed for getting their feet/lower legs wet.
Overall Vomo is my favorite South Pacific island over others (Moorea, Bora Bora, Tikehau, Roratonga, Autitauki) that I have been to. - 22/08/19read moreread less - Olga KPARADISE It's been 3 months since we were at Vomo and not a week goes by without us reminiscing how perfect our stay was... We loved everything about Vomo and even though we had huge expectations going there, Vomo beat them on every score.
The island is MAGICAL - turquoise water, lush gardens, exotic flowers, wild fruit.. you name it! The island is huge and private, we spent days (and nights!) exploring it and we found something extraordinary every single day! We also had a blast exploring the beautiful underwater world of Vomo - Vomo's Ocean Play crew took us to different snorkerling spots every day to show us Vomo's rich fauna and flora!! I think something we didn't appreciate until we were there was that Vomo owns the entire island - so if it's windy on one side of the island the opposite side of the island has no waves... so you can snorkel every single day!
The food was divine - the menu was changed daily... and offers something for everyone - we wish we could eat it all. The produce was fresh, the flavours were punchy and the menus were interesting. I highly recommend giving the Rocks a try too! We loved the South East Asian-inspired menu which was perfect for the hot weather!
We had a hillside villa - because the beachfront villas were sold out.. and we couldnt be happier! the views were amazing from our villa, which was spacious and tastefully furnished.
We would also like to recognize and thank each and everyone at Vomo – including those amazing people who work behind the scenes and whom we never got to meet and thank in person – you made our stay special and magical. Everyone at Vomo is kind and generous and went above and beyond to make our stay and my 30th birthday unforgettable. we are forever grateful. See you next year! - 07/10/19read moreread less
