VOMOfit – Daily Exercise to balance the daily holiday indulgences
VOMOfit is a range of workouts and challenges, conducted by our island based VOMOFit Instructors. Each morning at 7.30am, guests meet at Reception to participate in our complimentary classes. Some days you might walk to the yoga deck on Mt Vomo, to do some stretches and enjoy some of Fiji’s best views. Other mornings, you’ll be put through your paces using the free weights in our gym.
Sessions are free of charge. Pack some light comfortable clothing and sports shoes.
We encourage all guests to help our charity of choice, Cure Kids Fiji, by participating in The Mt Vomo Challenge. By walking or running to the summit of Mt Vomo, you can help raise money for Cure Kids Fiji and go into the draw to win a 5 night stay at Vomo Island. To be in the running to win the holiday, we ask each guest to pay $20 each time they scale the mountain. It doesn’t matter how fast or slow you walk or run. It’s all about making the effort to walk to the summit of Mt Vomo and enjoying the amazing vistas available from the top! The walk up Mt Vomo generally takes around 15 minutes, but some have be known to run to the summit in under 4 minutes.
Our Mt Vomo Challenge Ambassor, is Channel 7’s Sunrise Sports Host, Mark Beretta. Mark ran to the summit in 5 minutes and 4 seconds in 2016 when we launched the challenge. Mark challenges you “Are you Better than Beretta?”.
Other ways to keep fit are on the 9 hole pitch and putt golf course at VOMO – a challenging little course that can be played by all guests, no matter what your skill level is. We have a few sets of clubs for adults and children. Use of the golf course and clubs are free of charge.
Our tennis court has a synthetic grass surface and is floodlit for night use. Use of the tennis court is free of charge. Racquets and balls are available for complimentary use from the Front Office.
