The VOMO Dive Centre is a 5 Star certified PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) operator, offering a range of courses from beginners to advanced diving. With world class facilities and instructors, VOMO is the perfect place to learn a skill that will last a lifetime.
With warm waters, exceptional visibility and easy access to amazing dive sites, VOMO is an accredited PADI 5 Star Dive Resort and a wonderland for diving. We have over 10 different dive sites around VOMO; all of them just 20 to 40 minutes by boat from VOMO and most with a depth of between 12 and 20 metres. Submerge yourself in vast schools of butterfly fish and oriental sweetlips, drift the channels with white tips, giant trevallies and blue fin king fish, descend deep sea ridges with napoleon wrasses and spotted eagle rays, spot turtles or marvel at the stunning species that inhabit the massive volcanic reef formations. Exciting sites with thrilling channels, coral filled overhangs, caves, tunnels or boulders all are waiting to be explored close to VOMO.
If you are not already a certified diver, we encourage you to sign up to a PADI Discover Scuba Diving course or take the full PADI Open Water Dive Course during your stay. For young divers 8 to 12 years, there’s a great Bubble Blowers Course, providing a fun introduction to the world of scuba, whilst the PADI Discover Scuba and Open Water courses are available to everyone over the age of 10 years. It is possible to complete the theory of your dive course online before you arrive at VOMO which will reduce the time required to complete the course on island. As diving at VOMO is a bespoke experience, guests can select the times they would like to dive in consultation with their instructor. We access all dive sites aboard VOMO’s own purpose-built dive vessel which is shaded and comfortable and can adequately take 6 divers. Our diving equipment is of the highest quality with male and female options.
Before engaging in diving adventures, divers who have not been diving within the last year will be required to participate in an orientation dive conducted in the shallow waters or a pool. Please make sure you bring your diving certification card and log book with you. You must refrain from diving 12 hours after an international flight and 24 hours before traveling by air. This includes helicopter or seaplane flights.

Learn to dive at VOMO
Discover Scuba Course – Your first introduction to the wonderful underwater world of diving, under the supervision of our dive instructor. This course consists of a theory briefing and a confined water session up to 12 metres (40 feet). Duration 3 hours / Per person $500
PADI Open Water Course – The Open Water Certification Course consists of four days of training in theory and practice. Upon successful completion, you will be a certified scuba diver with a PADI Open Water certificate, opening up the world to infinite diving adventures as you progress. Duration 4 days. From 10 years of age to adult. Per person $1,750.
PADI Advanced Open Water Course – This course is about exploration, excitement, and experience! It is designed to help you increase your confidence and build your skills so you can become more comfortable in the water. This is a great way to get more dives under your belt while continuing to learn under supervision. It builds on what you have learned and develops new capabilities by introducing you to new activities and new ways to have fun scuba diving. $1,350 per person
Vomo’s Top 5 Dive Sites
Three Sisters (depth 14-20m) – Teemed with tropical fish and a wonderful variety of coral species.
Subway (depth 8-22m) – Subway home, along with Maori wrasse, scorpion fish, and crayfish camouflaged in the coral.
Corner Shop (depth 7-25m) – Lobster and pelagic fish.
Shark Alley (depth 10-18m) – Cauliflower soft coral and you could spot white and black tip sharks.
Coral Garden (depth 5-20m) – See large shoals of fish, moray eels, and the occasional hawksbill turtle and sting ray.

Amusing, thrilling and educational, scuba diving is the perfect activity for families to do together. Get your kids started young with our super scuba programmes. From their first cautious snorkel to brave adventures in the lagoon, kids will experience programmes run by PADI experts.

Bubble Blowers Course – This course for 8 to 12 year olds provides an introduction into the world of diving with tuition in the swimming pool and shallow waters at the beach. Duration 3 hours. Price per person $180
PADI Seal Team – For young scuba divers who are seeking action-packed fun, you’ll be tasked with completing exciting Aqua Missions. Have you ever wondered what it is like to dive with flashlights, take digital pictures underwater, or float effortlessly like an astronaut? Beyond learning scuba skills, there are specialty AquaMissions such as wreck diving, navigation, and environmental awareness.
You must be 8 years of age or older. No experience necessary but must be able to swim and be comfortable in water. Join an elite group of divers and become a member of the PADI Seal Team at VOMO!
